We took a drive out into the bush to Taylor’s Arm, home of the PUB WITH NO BEER. We hear a band playing and Iz says ” I know that drumming “
And he did. From 40 years before. Keith Longman from the 69ers when Iz was PETER KNOX. It was Keith who did the drumming for Izzy’s last BIG GIG at his funeral in June.
Old comrades play together again. Scrubby Pete Hurcombe from Murwillumbah way had a nephew getting married down Izzy’s way and out in the Thora Valley at the Chrysalis School. The two of them teamed up again to play. Louder than all the young players so they were.
Mike is a New Zealander, now resident on the Gold Coast of Australia. He joined the Yesterbeats as founding drummer.
AT JAMIESON’S WEST TWEED IN 2007
BEFORE THE SAWTELL CHILLI FESTIVAL.
A rare shot at ‘Chaplin’s’ in Oxford Street Sydney, the venue opened by the owners of The Ball Pants. This is Izzy and Paul Abrahims – the band was ‘Frack The Bunt’. The Strauss amp belonged to Swiss Chris, who kind of played organ in the band (until a loan shark came in one night and repossessed all his gear from under him!) What an adventure this has been!
